Spider Robinson changed my life. Honest to God, he did. It's a long story, but suffice it to say I'd be without some of my nearest and dearest friends if it weren't for him. His Callahans books are some of my favourites, and there's an LJ Callahans, a couple of IRC Callahans and alt.callahans on usenet that are all inspired by him and his books.

I'll definitely have to re-post this.
