Behind Me

There are a couple of things I need to explain.

1. I got a divorce.

2. I stepped away from the religious tradition in which I was raised.

On the surface, they’re not so much related to each other, but neither would have happened if the other wasn’t occurring simultaneously. I actually did the second thing first, although it was more of a process. ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry about the divorce-- that things did not turn out the way you'd hoped when you got married. If your husband was like most of your friends and family, I suppose it would have been nearly impossible for you to really be happy in that cage you were supposed to sing in. :(

I'm glad you've found your way free, hard as it was. I hope things get easier, there or in some new place you choose to be. *hugs*

Wow. The affects are so broad.

I'm impressed at your plumber abilities. I hope that things continue to open up for you.

This was heart-rending to read. You made all the right choices for you, which can be so hard to do. I hope this aftermath passes, and you find acceptance and happiness.

I'm sorry you had to go through such a drastic step. Divorce is definitely a mountain.

Congratulations on making those big steps, and being able to share. That is also a big deal.

I know you didn't go into the religious part as much, but I can definitely see a correlation between change of religion and marital state. Thanks for sharing with us, and filling in the blanks from where you left off.

It must have beeb terribly difficult making these decisions and then going through it all to get to where you are now. I am sorry to hear that your family has not been super supportive about some of your decisions. I hope things get better.
