Yeah, I find that an air of superiority sort of blocks that whole mutual esteem thing.
I stumbled onto a website that was speaking of women's opinions of penal sizes, and that they could care less. That it's men who get all bent out of shape about it, and suggested that men wouldn't develop low self esteem about it if they stopped comparing sizes with one another. I thought these comments revealed distinct naivity.
Actually there's a definite parallel there. If you substitute weight or body image for penis size, it puts a different perspective on it. It's women who get all bent out of shape about being "fat". Men don't really care. They even like a bit of curviness on women. So women should just stop comparing themselves to supermodels and they wouldn't develop low self-esteem...
