How did you get started into all that? What's the process?

Well, it really started cause I was taking a Japanese course at my college. Every semester, the International Office has a day where they'll set up outside and sort of advertise the Study Abroad programs. Me and my friend, who was also in the Japanese class, happened to walk through. It was more of an impulse that we decided to go to Japan. My friend looked at me and said "hey, you wanna go to Japan" and I responded "sure". And thus began the long process of applications. If you're planning on going as part of a Study Abroad program, I suggest you start early. You have to chose the school you want to go to and apply there. Start applying for study abroad scholarships as you apply for school applications. I suggest going for the Jasso scholarship. It pays for your airfare there and back and also gives you a monthly allowance of about $600. It pretty much pays for you to be there. I didn't even know about this scholarship until it was too late. There are other scholarhips as well that you can apply for. Since I live in the state of ( ... )
