Can I have a glass of water?

I just saw signs and once again I am blown away by this M. Night Shaymalan person. I am the only person I know who liked (or even saw) Unbreakable, but I just dig the way this man thinks. Who else would make himself the villan of his own movie? And, major props for choosing Patricia Kalember to play the mother, ' ( Read more... )

Personally, I find Shaymalan to be overrated. I wasn't overly enamoured with The Sixth Sense, as the movie was a pretty boring X-Files episode up until the ending, which was cool, but basicly a typical The Twilight Zone ending. I didn't think the ending was cool enough to merit all the fuss, and I actually liked the way they handled the same kind of twist in The Others much better.

Never saw Unbreakable, and the funny guy who reviews movies on local TV said the ending twist to Signs was kind of dumb and unnecessary. So I probably won't see it, just because I'm not a big fan of his work. I am curious to know what "the twist" ending is, though. Is Mel the alien? Is he defacing his own field in his sleep? Is he really dead? What?

(P.S. I love Ben.)

Hee. That'd be pretty funny.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but that's not saying much -- I almost never go to movies. Partially because I'm cheap, and partially because I'm a TV whore. I'm also not a big Mel fan, which contributes. I'll probably watch it once it comes on TV.

Ah, Ben. There should be more people like him. Damn.
