Apologies

to anyone who saw this morning's post. Nothing bad going down here other than my inadequately considered wording being even worse than usual. Quelle surprise. Oh, and the heartbreak that is the Habs ( Read more... )

Saw the pilot and was underwhelmed. Where would you recommend starting if I were to try again?

Basically, nobody but me likes that stupid show. It's the first and last word in serialization, so the ONLY way to watch is straight through from the beginning.

OK, how about Freaks and Geeks? I'm just off to sign up to write about it for the Meta Month of March.

Time Out NY has an interview, but I couldn't find a link.

Ah! I can see how you would suggest it straight away.

Saw Shat in Montreal (oh, sob, my Habs) a little while ago and have ticks for Charlotte. Wanna come?

ZOMG! How did I miss that this was shot at home?!! Thank you!

(and I may need to bug you about something in louder than a whisper...but let's see what happens if I play with it a little this weekend)

Oh, man, it is so pretty, too. Every time I watch that show, I want to go there. They're doing a fan tour this summer, with Eric Balfour, and I really want to go! I've never had the slightest desire to go on any of those actor cruises or trips, but this one sounds so appealing.

(bug away :)

Er, I watched all of Breaking Bad in about a month and then immediately started rewatching it. If you're still looking for suggestions it's pretty phenomenal.

(Also everyone ever should watch Community even though--well, actually because--it's going to get cancelled.)

Whoa! Thanks heaps! Anna Gunn herself is enough to sell me. I'll give it a try the next time my box catches re-run.

So...how critical is it to start from the beginning?

Anna Gunn is pretty fantastic in the show. She gets a lot of undeserved hate from fandom, but then, when is that not the case with female characters on male dominated shows?

It is heavily serialized, so I'd recommend starting from the beginning, but if you wanted to just catch an episode to see if you liked the flavor I don't think anything too terrible would happen.

Hehe! True: after reading the title I expected to see [Counselor] Troi freak out about LeVar Burton and spent most of the clip being befuddled. It may be that your show is too cerebral for me.

You know, that is the first of it I have ever seen. Not even a trailer or commercial. For some reason I have bad associations with the name and never even tried it. Was it on right before or after "Outsourced"? One half of one episode of that made me want to pitch my TV out the window and flee to Amish country. It took me months to be able to put on Parks & Recreation--despite my deep and abiding adoration of all things Poehler--just because NBC promoed the two in the same breath.
