Comment and I'll tell you something I think is nifty about you.  Or maybe even more than one thing!

(You can then, if you so choose, put this in your LJ.)

absolutely you.

i love that you are older than me and living the kind of life i can imagine building for myself, passionate and vivid with a home and a family. i love that you seem to live both in your body and in your mind. i love how you write about the things which bridge the gaps between the outside and the inside, like the three scents you stop to smell on your way into your house. i love that you wrote about meyer lemons once in a way that will always make me associate them with joy and light. i love that when you write about your children i can tell that you both like them and love them.

I think it's nifty how you try so hard to be the person you want to be.

I'm a little afraid that sounds condescending -- like I think you're not succeeding -- but I hope you can see what I mean? You post about struggling hard to communicate clearly with the people you love and with the people you work with and I like that you *try*, even though it's hard, and that you often succeed but when you fail you admit it and you keep trying. Because I'm not good at admitting that I've failed & need to try again, and seeing someone who can do it is just -- nifty.

I'm glad I've met you!

I think it's nifty how profoundly loyal you are, because it's such a rare trait in people, and because I know you've had people in the past reward your friendship & loyalty by being really crappy. So it's extra-nifty to me that you keep on trusting, anyway, and reaching out to people and always being *there* when people need you. We tease you about being flaky, but you know, when it really matters I know you're not going to flake, you're going to be there when we need you, and that's amazing. And nifty!
