Here's my 2008 so far:

-Best friend gets in an accident with an 18-wheeler
-Husband leaves for training and won't be home again until December  
-Mom dies

Seriously?  We're only 6 days into this year and it already sucks.  Big time.  I don't know what I did to deserve this, but I sure as hell hope that I'm done paying for it.

Rog is down at FITG getting all his shots/medical/paperwork stuff done for his deployment right now.  He left at 8 this morning and won't be home until Tuesday nite.  We also found out that he's leaving on December 3rd which is not when we thought he would be.  Originally, they were told after Christmas in January.  Also, they aren't even doing ( Read more... )

So, as of right now, I have 2 wedding dresses and a wedding suit.  Wedding dress #1 is from David's Bridal that was originally $900 that I got for $300.  Wedding dress #2 is from JC Penny's that was originally $180 that I got for $40.  Wedding suit is made by Anne Klein that I got as a present from my Uncle Richard.  All of this and we still don't ( Read more... )

My Uncle Richard died yesterday.  Even after typing that, I still can't accept it.  Probably because a.) he's the first person I've known who's died, b.) he's been my biggest supporter for my whole life, and c.) I just spoke to him on Wednesday and he was fine.  I'm the beneficiary to his will but first we need to find it and there's a HUGE issue ( Read more... )

I got my first and probably last tattoo tonite.  It's the word "Ubuntu" and it has an African Violet on each side.  I got it right below the base of my neck.  It's an African word that basically means the essence of being human and that we are all connected.  I read about it in Vanity Fair last month and decided that's what I wanted.  I've wanted a ( Read more... )

We found out this past weekend that Rog has to go to Afghanistan.  He'll leave in November for 3 months of training, most likely in North Carolina, and then he'll head to Afghanistan in February and stay there till November of 2008.  He was due to be done with National Guard in February 2008, so now he'll be in Afghanistan instead.  I basically ( Read more... )
