Title: Legacy
Chapter Number - Title: 0 - Prologue
Notes: It's just a spare time thing.
The birds chirped quietly as the early morning mist rode in, covering the land in a blanket of sleepiness and ease. Unwillingly, the guards’ defenses dropped and they let the boredom of the watch get to them, practicing their mastery of weapons. Neither noticed the black shadows moving beneath the calm fog, creeping up on the city that mimicked a lioness stalking its prey. Silent as mice, they crept over the walls and killed the guards, whose bodies made a quiet thud when they hit the stone ground. The town slept on, uncaring of the deaths and enjoying the peaceful moments where anything they wanted to do came alive in visuals as clear as day, visions that the gods surely gave them to allow them to see what death had in store. No one knew that Death was to ride her chariot so soon.
The shadows made their way into each house, killing their occupants with no more than a shriek at being grabbed before they felt silent, a gaping wound in their neck and blood that turned their sheets as red as the beautiful rose, the town’s lucky flower. But as beautiful as that flower was, its petals held poison and its thorns tore the flesh of those who held it, no matter how careful they were. The enemies were the same, seemingly harmless shapes in the mist that killed the ones they touched but knowing they did so, whilst the rose was unaware of herself hurting those that loved her. In this aspect, one could say the Rose was innocent of her sins; others could say she planned it as well as a spider plans to eat her mate after they breed.
Nonetheless, the town was caught unaware.
When one guard caught wind of the stench of death, he raised the alarm and what was left of the townspeople ran to the church, the sleepy guard awakening to the sounds of a constant battle and joining in it themselves. This is where the hero, a young boy no older than nine, stepped in and saw his mother raped and killed in front of him. This is where he vowed to kill any man who harmed those he loved. This is where his legacy as one of the greatest heroes of all time began, as well as the myths that came with such fame.
