Stopping there is, I'm sure, a form of cruel and unusual punishment. I have lots of friends who are lawyers who would probably agree with me on this, if of course I were willing to admit to them that I read fanfic. Which isn't going to happen.

Suffice to say, I highly enjoyed this chapter. I liked the double talk and the Christmas gifts, and how he didn't tell her that Truman called (quite frankly, I'm surprised Truman made the effort), but mostly I like how it ends and although I know it's highly unlikely they can make it all the way to Mexico, I still hope that's where they end up. ;)

Haha, that would actually make me proud to get sued for something like that. Thank you! :)

Oh! Oh, Casey, where are you going?! I'm on the edge of my seat.

Very real and believable (and enjoyable!) interaction between Derek and Casey. Great work!

I think I forgot to mention it at ff, but your Casey!jabs are way too amazing. ("And even fewer brain cells")
And just the fact that Derek didn't tell her about Truman and EVERYTHING. Oh MAN! Seriously, awesome work!

I am so glad that you updated this! I love the story -- there is a nicely natural build in the emotions and the original characters are interesting. You have D&C characterization down really well too. I like the conversation about Kevin -- and that they both knew (and the readers knew) that it wasn't really Kevin that was missed or missing.

Nice job!

Thank you! I was a little unsure about their characterization in this chapter, so I'm glad to hear you say that :)
