Units are also class hours. Not all classes are 3 units. Some count as four, some count as one, some just are... I'm taking 13 units because I have four 3-unit classes and a lab that counts as 1 unit. To graduate, you have to have a set number of units finished. (I have to have 128 units to graduate with a BA.)
