Doesn't seem like there is any cut and dry solution to that problem. From what I've been able to find, wedding gifts are to be returned in the event a wedding is called off. Personalized gifts or gifts that were already used may or may not be kept, the recipient should offer to return the gift and then it's pretty much up to the one who gave it at that point
