XDD yay! Devin's accent is so weird to write; most of the time I'll feel as though trying to write it detracts from the rest of the story, but Dev's, I'll try for. X3 I am glad to know it's coming off all right! :D

And he is. XD;; He fascinates me, even if I don't like his attitude problem at all. I like throwing him into random situations just to see how he'll react to it. XD;;

*plops on the ramble-hat* And... and I'm going to say for the most part, it does--just because all men go to the surface at one point or another. Kind of like how here, going to school is a given; it's just something you automatically do? That's what the training academy is for men. As soon as you pass out of normal schooling, you enter the academy, even if you plan to do something else or don't want to go up; it's like a duty, almost. Bre wants to invent things, he wants to work on making things and couldn't care less about fighting, but he still goes to the academy. His father, who maaay or may not show up here sometime, is a doctor--but he still went to ( ... )

XD This is actually a good thing! :3 I mean for Dev to come off that way, actually. He's got a fairly good reason for hating the council once you get right down to it, but since even canonly, the only people who know about it (outside of the council and Dev, lol) are his parents. Dev worries (well, he claims that worrying is wrong, but he worries) that if anyone knew about it, he'd be ostracized. So he pulls an attitude problem and makes people ostracize them all on his own~! Woooo. SO YEAH. XD Good reason when you get to it, but since it's not widespread in-canon, I'm wont to keep it secret for a little while longer before anyone knows the truth. :3;;

And yes, it is free. :3 Desuya's entirely isolationist; if you leave, you'll never come back (unless there is good, good reason; there's been like... two people who have ever done it in all of history XD). In general, I almost want to say it's like a communist world, in a way; everything is shared and for the most part, everybody is equal (the eight Summoners will get some special ( ... )

Nice use of voice. ^^ the Narrator's definate voice of Devin. Devin seems fun... even though I shy away from reading your stuff with him... if I think that's the same kid who likes Bre... XDDD Fun stuff. Like the fighting scene in the end too... is that supposed to be after his conversation with Bre or before?

Bwahaha. XDD Why don't you like reading stuff with him? :P I would probably never post anything here that I considered to be too dirty for your eyes (lol, I say that like I write a ton of it XDDD), and even if I eventually did post stuff like that over here, it would be clearly labeled and warned. XD

BUT YES, Dev is the bratty kid that likes Bre. XD

And does it make much of a difference if it was before or after? :3 I wrote it as occurring after the conversation with Bre, but it could be either one~ XDD
