jonghyun meeps in anticipation, readjusting his collar and school tie nervously and reaching up to brush his bangs to the side. he's been waiting for this day for 4 months. today's the day he'll confess to lee jinki. what he imagines is this: him jumping out from behind the bench as lee jinki walks past, him presenting lee jinki with a box of chocolates and telling lee jinki his feelings and finally, finally, him and lee jinki kissing. jonghyun giggles inwardly at that last thought.
what actually happens is this: lee jinki gets closer and closer, and jonghyun is all about ready to pounce, when out of nowhere comes a, "jjong, what the hell do you think you are doing?"that nearly causes him to fall over. he really does fall over when he turns around to find one kim kibum, his best friend since forever, crouched right behind him, brows furrowed and nostrils flared in annoyance. and that's when jonghyun remembers their arrangement to meet up for ice cream at their usual place half an hour ago. shit.
he chances a morose glance in the direction where lee jinki would be only to find that the other boy's already walked past him, nose buried in a textbook and oblivious to his surroundings as usual. jonghyun sighs and resigns himself to another one of kibum's long rants about how his best friend never cares for him anymore ever since he started pining for some stupid nerd and are you even listening to me. his confession would just have to wait for another day.
