[Mitsuhide sounds peaceful; relaxed, almost. If he is dweling on anything, it's not evident.]October... I recall a curse from October last year quite clearly. We were stuck in formal wear and masks; I was told that they was related to that 'Halloween' festival. Those masks were very beautiful. It was a little inconvenient, being unable to remove ( Read more... )

You were trapped in masks? You sound calm about it.

[ Someone has not had curses explained to him, and the idea of even such a simple event disturbs him. ]

Only for a week, and compared to some of the other curses we have experienced here, it was a rather small thing to deal with.

[Mitsuhide hums thoughtfully.]

It felt a little uncomfortable at times, to be sure, but most did not have their vision impaired. They really were lovely masks, too.

What do you mean by 'other curses?'

Oh? You don't know? I'm sorry.

[He really does sound apologetic. This person must be new...]

Every so often, we are affected by a curse. The same one rarely repeats twice; Vatheon's power is great. It can affect us in many ways, be they good, bad or simply strange.

[ That was good to know, if disturbing. ]

How long do they last?

Usually a week. There have been, on occasion, curses that last a fortnight, but those are very rare and are usually amongst the more mild curses.

What is the best way to prepare for them?

They are so random in nature that preparing for them is hard, especially so now that they do not happen at regular intervals.

All you can do is be on your guard, and be aware that anything can happen.

[ Not to different from what he experienced before, then. Naoya nods his head. ]

I see. Thank you.

[asdfghjkl introduction! He keeps forgetting himself, to the point it's become a bad habit.]

Ah, as did I. Forgive me. I am Akechi Mitsuhide; it is an honour.

[ That name gives him pause. He may be one of the few in his class to remember his history lessons, but he was always one to pay more attention than usual.

Could this place -- he shakes himself ever so slightly, regaining his manners. ]

The honor is mine.
