I suppose there is little choice but to accept it, is there?

[What 'it' is, he does not say, though those who heard his previous post can likely guess. His voice is melancholy, betraying something of how he is feeling about that 'acceptance,' but when he speaks again he sounds a lot calmer.]This week I shall be spending many days away from home. That last curse... I saw those I care for lose their memories, and heard that those who leave Vatheon may not remember this place when they get back to their home times.

[That thought terrifies him, though he will not actually say that out loud.]

But if that is so, there is nothing I can do to change it. All I can do is accept.

I suppose it does, Alucard.

[He is terrified at the prospect of forgetting Vatheon when he is sent home. But he will not express the extent of that fear out loud.]

When I am returned home, I may forget. But it is something I cannot fight against, so I must accept it.

I have heard, Mitsuhide, that we never truly forget anything. That everything we learn, see, touch and taste remains locked away in our memories. Perhaps we cannot recall these things at will as we can with our short term memory but they are still kept.

I know, it is not the most comforting of thoughts...

[A long pause.]

...I... well, thank you for telling me.

[It doesn't really ease the pain... not when he will be unable to recall the experience of getting to spend time with his dearest friend outside of war, seeing him alive once more, and when he will not be able to recall these new souls he has met.]

It is something, at least.
