[Mitsuhide sounds tired. Either he's just woken up or is ready to sleep.]I find myself missing the snow that would usually coat the ground at this time of year, back home in Mino. Vatheon provided us with some during what would have been the summer months, but only as part of a curse. It was lovely, being able to enjoy it as I did. Perhaps we might ( Read more... )

May I ask, Mitsuhide... What is snow like?

Of course.

[His voice is warm as he speaks. Guess who can be rather poetic at times?]

It's like a fine white powder, cold to the touch. When it falls from the sky the air takes on an unusual... quality, is the only way I can put it, so it makes the land look beautiful and the air itself feel beautiful too.

[Mitsuhide chuckles slightly.]

I have always liked taking walks in the snow, even though it chills your skin.

[ A-Aww, what a cutie o////o ]

I see! Do you think it might snow here? I'd like to take a walk and feel the snow.

There are no guarantees, and I am not daring to hope for it, but... there is always a chance.

If we get snow, will Mitsuhide-san make a snowman with Rena?

Of course, Miss Rena. I'd be delighted to.

It'll be fun, lots and lots of fun! And then when it gets later and everyone's chilly, we can have hot cocoa!

Cocoa...

[He sounds really delighted at that prospect.]

Cocoa is truly lovely, isn't it? Especially when one puts 'marshmallows' in it.

Sânge a fost vărsat în această zi. Zăpadă a venit în a spune zi buna.

Blood's been spilled on this day. The snow's come out to say good day.
So goes the little nursery rhyme from when I was a boy.

[A pause before he responds.]

That sounds rather... morbid.

When blood makes the grass grow and the fields are littered with the bodies of the dead, the snow comes out to cover the brutality and sorrow in a sheet of white.

Such is the nature of War during the Winter.

For along with the snow... comes the bitter cold.

The last time I saw it before coming here was on a battlefield.

[Said in a quiet voice.]

So... I know that. Better that I hold pleasant memories of snow in my heart.

Snow? Oh, I really hope it does snow here!

I have been convinced to be optimistic about the chances of it happening.

[He laughs warmly.]

Such is unlike me, perhaps.

Well, like I said, I totally hope it will! I've never seen snow with my own eyes before.

It seems that is the case for quite a few of my friends... I shall have to pray ever more for it to come, then! Walking while the snow falls around you is a lovely thing to do.

You mean there was snow? Here? Underwater? [The idea seems fascinating to her, and she stares at the SFC in wonder.] Huh. We didn't have snow on the islands where I grew up, but I would love to see it.

Indeed; there was a curse, and it was a part of it. The snow literally fell from the top of the dome.

[His tone is thoughtful and quiet.]

Well, I have been persuaded to be optimistic about the chances of it appearing again, so we can but hope! It would be nice. Walking amongst falling snow always gives me a pleasant feeling.

Like magic? [Still a bit in awe, here.] That would be really pretty!

I really hope it does happen again. Is it anything like walking through the sand?

Magic is all that can explain it... and it is indeed very beautiful. A white blanket for the ground.

[He thinks for a moment.]

Not quite. Snow has almost a crunch to it when you walk across it, and sticks together quite well.
