[Mitsuhide seems calm. A little sleepy as well, perhaps, and there is a small smile on his face. The SFC is placed on the surface in front of him, so that he polish his katana whilst making the post.]
[His first statement is simply:]
I am lucky to be here.
[A pause, and he moves on, frowning briefly.]The city seems to be a little... well, quiet

Of course, Mitsuhide. I shall come to you.

[A bow of the head.]
[Whilst waiting, Mitsuhide finished tending to his sword, speaking to people on the SFC and brewing tea. By the time Motochika arrives, that tea will be ready and he will be sat in the garden again, just beside the sakura tree.]/

What's the matter, Mitsuhide?
Reply
Well.
[A quick sip of his own tea. Nice and relaxed, Mitsuhide. Nice and relaxed!]
I have... fallen for another of Vatheon's captives.
Reply
That is excellent news, my friend. You are moving forward.
[Mitsuhide wished to discuss this, so Motochika will listen without making demands, despite the desire to question.]
Reply
Perhaps.
[He closes his eyes. This needs to go right, if he is to gain the information he needs to decide what to do.]
But I am unsure what to do about it. There are many problems with pursuing such a love within a place like this.

[Mitsuhide's eyes opened again. The people of Vatheon had given him some good advice regarding most of the problems he worried over, and how to deal with if not overcome them. Still...]
Vatheon is in a constant state of change, Lord Motochika. People come and go, some return again, some do not. Some forget this place when they go home, but on the other hand, some do not, as I recently learned.
It is not the most stable base on which to build a loving relationship. I will not lie; a part of me is afraid of loss. It is hard enough to deal with the loss of a friend. Were I to pour myself into this love, only to have that one taken away... the thought scares me.
[He glances up at the dome.]
I would not wish to put them through that either... should they indeed feel the same. I do not know if they do, yet.
[He's trying to work that out now, actually. HURHUR. Mitsuhide looks back down.]
But at the same time, I cannot ignore how I feel.

[Motochika replies firmly.]
Your fear of loss erodes your spirit. If you allow it consume you, what you desire will be washed beyond your reach. That is no way to live -- paralysed by your weakness, mourning the undecided loss of a love that you were too afraid to grasp.
Tell me, Mitsuhide. Could you look yourself in the eye for the rest of your life, knowing that you never made a stand? That you never took the risk? Not everyone leaves. What you desire is entirely possible for you to have and keep.
[He pauses.]
Some things are worth fighting against the odds for. Only you can decide if a life intimately shared with this person is numbered among them.
[Motochika sips his tea, and lowers the cup. He may not be making demands, but he will make his opinion clear.]
Speak with this person, if nothing else. Few would turn you down, Mitsuhide. Those who would do not deserve your heart.

'To have and keep.' So I must take on Vatheon's nature with my own will... the will of one man. Perhaps another as well, but still a great challenge. Against the odds, as you say.
[A pause... and he smiles softly.]
But it would be worth it.
[Mitsuhide drinks a little more tea before continuing, slight amusement in his voice.]
I am not so sure that rejection of me would deem someone undeserving, Lord Motochika. That is a little harsh.
Reply
[He slides his eyes shut for a few seconds, a smirk curling his lips. When he opens them again, he says]
Both Gracia and I are firmly on your side.

[Mitsuhide puts his cup down again and leans back a little. That soft smile widens a little. Oh, if only you knew!]
I know, Lord Motochika. I would never doubt it.
Reply
Good.
[He takes another sip of tea, and waits to see if there is any more that Mitsuhide wishes to say. The smile he watches his friend wear seems like a promising sign.]
Reply
Perhaps it is nearly time to make my confession, then.
[Mitsuhide leans back further, until he is laying down on the grass.]
You will know soon enough whether this person can be considered worthy, by your point of view.
Reply
[Motochika is evidently pleased by Mitsuhide's resolve to see this through; confidence suits his friend.]
Whatever comes of your confession, you will not have disappointed yourself.
Reply
I hope not, Lord Motochika.
[His voice softens.]
TIme will tell.
