(crack!)FIC: HG/DM, PG, "Draco's Big Day"

Jan 18, 2006 17:29

The dmhgficexchange was probably the largest one that I participated in over the holidays. I think there were more than 100 gifts exchanged. I had quite a bit of fun with mine. First, julesndairyland wrote "Of Old Dogs and New Tricks" for me. It features an older Draco and Hermione, hot sex, snarky dialogue, and carries an NC-17 rating. I especially appreciate Jules' use ( Read more... )

I comment oh so much... I think it's Snarky fluff. yenesi January 19 2006, 03:23:47 UTC
I was surprised that you wrote this one! I thought you would have written something a bit steamier, but it was great nonetheless.

“Mother? Are you home? Mother?” he called into the expansive hallway.

“I’m here, darling.”

You can feel the wealth dripping from those words. I voted for this for best fluff. Made me feel all warm and hapy inside.

And speaking of the exchange, I must say Resolution, the fic you beta'd for Taigan: Wow! I was speechless after reading that one.

Yes, I was surprised I wrote a PG rated Draco/Hermione fic, too. I almost "went all the way" with them in Hermione's office... but somehow, that didn't seem like it would fit with the rest of the story.

I guess since I've had engagements on the brain lately, this is just what happened!

Thanks for the vote, by the way. I appreciate it.

And I just signed on to do a back-up fic for eucalyptus for the exchange... needless to say, that will be quite steamy!

I'm glad that you're cool with me calling you "G"!

Wow....did I just read Draco/Hermione FLUFF and love it? That's most...unexpected. :D

Love, love, love Pansy's first impulses. Thanks for keeping her Slytherin.

hahahe! I'm glad that you enjoyed it, V!

I think I wrote this shortly after my own Very Silly Engagement Experience. I needed to deal with it through fluffy fic writing, I guess.

Not that this is anything like my experience at all.

Slytherin-y Pansy (and Narcissa) is my favorite part of this story!

ps. I hope you're feeling better today!

Aww, no need to apologize for the fluff. Sometimes we all need a little snarky-happy. And may this story bring you a little mojo, wink-nudge.

I am feeling better, thank you. Still a bit of stuffiness and coughing but nothing a little Robo can't beat into submission. :)

Am amazed and thrilled. Honestly, I would have never read the story if it wasn't written by someone I know. Cracky fluff, most definitely. See, there are quite a few things that normally I wouldn't like, but you make them snarky and confused and so very cool. And the title fits perfectly. Love!

Señor Malfoy!
*giggles*

Yay for Slytherin awesomeness! Also, guh, D/Hr is such a guilty pleasure.

Oh, Refche, thanks again for your wonderful thoughts. I'm glad that you gave this one a chance. This isn't my usual fare, either... actually, I'm not sure I have a usual fare -- maybe just porn?

I had a fairly silly Engagement Experience, myself. And so I felt led to write something that would dismantle that (sexist) cultural feminine childhood dream of the "engagement moment" ... this is what happened.

Again, thanks so much for your thoughts.
