Thank you guys! It was a total miracle. The tire locked and pushed her 7 feet along the asphalt! She went into shock immediately--then moments later, she got up and ran around in the street some more! Are you kidding me??? No! She only has some tire tread black on her fur and two wounds to her back leg. I got in touch with whatever vets I could, and I ran to a neighbor's house to borrow some aspirin. Slipped the pills into a feast of chicken thighs, celebrating that Bow is still with us. No place really does animal emergencies for 100 miles... She's wagging her tail a bit... I will be there when the vet opens, bright and early. I'm lying on the floor with the three dogs, emotionally weak in the knees. This dog is part cat. Luckiest dog in the world. She is doing fine.
Oh, poor sweetie. You're right, that could have been a lot worse and she did did pull through that miraculously. She could be that bad guy in the scary movies that never dies. So lucky she didn't present with an immediate emergency. And I'll bet she liked the chicken.
evie once fell out of the window of my old truck and lived to tell the tale. the only remnant of the experience is a small patch on her belly that doesn't grow fur.
they are resilient little beasties.
..but poor bow and poor bow's mama! i am so so so glad that she is OK. definitely do have her checked out in the morning, and keep a good eye until then.

Do you know the extent of her injuries? That's just awful. Poor Bow. All my vibes are traveling as we speak.

I've already picked out the vet who opens the soonest and will be there right when they open at 7.
