questions about business stuff

so i was going to ask my dad for web hosting and a domain name registration for christmas this year and i was wondering which package i should go with. i don't know anything about web design and would probably have to find someone to do it for me for cheap or trade.

If you go to loobylu.com. In her journal somewhere, she writes that she just got one of these things and absolutely loves it. It's been about a month or so ago. Sounds like she had alot of good to say about it.

you can get domain names for $6.95 for a year at godaddy.com & that is the best way to get started--even if you don't put a lot of stuff up right away, you have it all set.

My friend Nedra (nedra@nedramadeit.com) does my design, she charges $18 an hour (pretty cheap!) and is open to trade... her husband does hosting too, I think for about $30 a year with some bells and whistles. My hosting has been kind of a pain lately so I'm not recommendling them (although they are supposedly upgrading a lot of their security stuff). E-mail Nedra if you want to just get some ideas or estimates. Oh, & I highly recommend a paypal shopping cart--it's free, easy to design around & very secure. I've used mine for a few years and it's been great.

PS Nedra could also put together a package estimate, I bet, that you could propose to your dad for your present!
