Hey Doughgirl,

I share your pain. The most frustrating thing about writing this dissertation is the *hours* that I must spend sitting on my ass, usually on my bed, with my increasingly doughy cat sleeping nearby. (Although the vet says it's good for him to pack a few extra pounds because of the FIV.) I have really longed for a smart, intelligent woman to come along and write a witty yet scathing account of America's obsession with being fat, eating, the roles of men and women, etc. You should post this in your regular journal.

The best Hitchhiker's Guide rendition is the radio show. It's better than the book, and absolutely hysterical. Whenever I stop a moment and think about what I find truly funny, the radio show of Hitchikers Guide is always the first thing I think of.

It's available on amazon UK - it was a BBC Radio production. Funny, I also could not find it on regular Amazon!

well, for goodness sake, don't pass up "Mile End" by Chuck Kershenblatt- fellow South Jersey resident, in fact.
