I've been distracted lately by the virus that is Facebook. It's been taking up what precious little time I've had lately, which is why I haven't had much to say here.
oh dear god, not you too, its like a plague sweeping through all the unis.
btw, are you interested in taking part in my media arts project early next year? I kinda have an idea for it and i'm writing the treatment now. It's more character/actor based than most student shorts. It's more like a one act play but filmed. And since you're pretty experienced on stage and in acting generally i'd like to have you on board.
It'll be a commitment, so i'll have more rehearsals than short films usually, but i hope it'll be meaty for the actor as well, since a good amount of characterisation etc will be your own input.
but i'll keep you updated on any developments, it's very early days yet...heheh, and man, stay away from facebook, it's only slightly less evil than myspace.
Sounds awesome, I'd love to be involved. Of course it all depends on timing, but seeing as you can't give me any details, I can't say no :P I'll do it for sure if I'm able.
I now have friends that I talk to over email, msn, sms, livespace and facebook, who I haven't actually seen face-to-face for 6 months. And these people live 3 suburbs away.
I think facebook is somewhat of Matrix-like computer program designed to enslave humanity to their computers and never let them out. I picture a future where streets lie empty, tumbleweeds blowing in the wind, buildings crumbling from years of decay, and inside, people hunched over their computer screens in a semi-conscious and emaciated state as they repeatedly "poke" each other and write on their "walls".
It's not a pretty future. Next time you log on to facebook, think about that, and how you're selling out humanity. That's right, facebook users are selling out humanity to the machines. THE MACHINES!!!!
Hey, if selling out to the machines means I get to fly around in slo-mo, dodge bullets, warp the fabric of space and time, and go to awesome cave-rave parties, then I'm all for it.
