Right now, Prop 8 looks like it is winning.
I really hoped Californians were smarter than this. That they were more open minded and kinder and smarter than falling for the religious propaganda behind Prop 8. Don't we live in a quote-unquote blue state? How could the so-called most liberal state in the union fall for bigotry?
It makes me terribly sad that we have come far enough as a nation to elect a black president, but not far enough to let people marry the people they love.
I hope that when the votes are all counted, Prop 8 will be defeated. But I hope that if it is not, we will keep fighting.
