I held out hope, but that was a mistake.

I know it's not over - I know eventually it will all get straightened out and logic will prevail over lunacy. I know I will probably even stay legally married throughout all the turmoil. It is just crazy to know that more than half of the population considers you to be a second rate person. Most people think that I shouldn't have rights - even people that I know and that have known me for years believe this strongly enough to strip them from me. It's a very peculiar, frustrating, heartbreaking, bewildering feeling, and I have lost hope for those people, not for myself. As for me, I will be okay. I will continue to live and thrive despite those filled with hatred and a sense of self-preservation with no regard for others, and they will eventually be forced to accept me in a legal manner if not in a social one ( ... )
