A friend of mine died of leukemia a couple of weeks ago. After a 5-day battle with overactive blood activity that included clotting to the brain resulting in a coma, my friend passed away in her sleep

That's terrible. We've slipped people additional leave now and then to let them catch a hardship flight. I'm sorry for your loss and that you had to spend time justifying it.

No kidding, I had initially thought I wouldn't fight it, but really, Vacation? Not gonna do it. It just didn't seem right to call it that.
