So I have been doing alot of oil pastel work lately...I find I have more time for art these days, which is beautiful! So I thought I'd post some of the stuff I've been working on...

This one is called Black Crow Sitting Across From Me.

WHOA!!!!! THAT GUY IN THE MIDDLE! Ok, I don't mean to be such a freaking GIRL, but holy shit on a shingle, he is a babe and a HALF. Ok, and also, as for the art, I am LOVING how rich and vital those pieces are. I feel like you tipped your heart out on the table and smeared it around (in a non-gross and non-bloody way). i love the underside of that flower. so lovely. do you like how i TRIED to use capital letters and that just died... so anyway, and i love the crow one so much. and i love that the right side of hte one you don't like so much has a MUSHROOM in it which is so funny and adorable and i like the sense of movement in that one. yes. kissskissss

haha I love that you noticed that strange mushroom...I am not sure why things come out when I draw, but they do!! Its been so much fun creating these! I can't wait to do more :)

Yeah, I second the babe comment. Guy In The Middle looks like a cuddly Viggo Mortensen, which is, you know, pretty much excellent.

I love your paintings, kiddo, especially the smeary bits in Crow, which reminds me of Lynda Barry's work, and I'm in LOVE with your flower. (Lotus? Poppy? Lily?) It's such a gorgeous scene, with the island in the background. Something from the other side of the world.

I don't know Lynda Barry, so I will look her up. The crow one is one of my most favorite pieces i have done. It does not photograph that well actually. but Jeff tried to steal it :) and usually I give my art out, but this one, its all for me. I am framing it. And I have never wanted to really frame my art before.

Okay Pender, I am going to have to take a picture of my new room in Fernandina like the color the wall is going to be, and the bedspread and stuff, so you can see the color scheme and for my birthday...or for just because you're one of my bestest friends alive...or dead (I ain't got no dead friends praise jesus) and I need a nice peice of artwork to go in my room, and those drarw-rings are so freakin awesome. Also, I am SO SO SO glad you are feeling so good right now. THat's so exciting and fantastic. I know we will chat via cella phone soon, but just wanted to reply so I don't forget to bring up the art request. I am in need of your services. Please render them my way!

Do it. and of course I will. :) I would love to do something for your room!! Don't you have that bitchin Hanson drawing I did, and i think one of thier faces is all screwed up...ha if you do, take a picture of it, i want to remember how bad it is :)

gorgeousness! i love the first two ... you are so dang talented girl :) and seriously yes, that boy is rather hot. go for it. music taste is definitely indicative of general awesomeness... :)

I love that you're posting your art again, but I especially love the entirely new direction it seems to be going in. It's so vibrant, bright, colorful, emotional, delicious. It's the kind of stuff I'd want to hang in my kitchen to inspire people to want to eat berries and mascarpone or make their own popsicles.

Oh Kit Fox. You stole my heart right out of its chest with your package that you sent me. I hope you got my phone message about it. It was one of the most thoughful things I have ever recieved and you made my heart grow with so much love when I got it. I am blessed to have such great friends. Especially my Fox sisters. :)
