I need your trash!

I need your trash, and I need it before next spring. Here's a list of items that many people throw away that you can instead save for me. I will come and pick them up from you. However, if you live outside the greater Knoxville area, you may not want to participate in said trash saving unless you know you will be seeing me soon ( Read more... )

I'll see what I can round up. My mom and I go through alot of knee-highs that are made of hose stuff. Will they work? And the rats are eating yogurt regularly.

Once I round up a good quantity, I'll drag them over with me. (Right now I'm sleeping in Kingston during the week.)

Also, I know a guy in middle TN that cleans and sells the big plastic drums/barrels. We buy them to use as jumps for the horses and he'll only let us have food grade for that purpose. Middle TN is probably too far away though...

Do you know where he gets them from?

For the 50 gallon drums, you might check into cafeterias and buffet restaurants. It heavily depends on the menu and their own policy of trash vs. recycle, but they are definitely likely to have large scale items. I can't imagine any store having a 50 gallon drum, but then I start to really ask myself just how CiCi's Pizza or Mandarin House does it. Just call during an off hour and ask to speak with a manager.

I also notice you can buy the things on the internet for something like $40 a piece, to give you an estimate of how the things go.

I meant to say $10-$40 a piece. Lots of factors involved and should i assume you are making a rainwater recovery unit?

Be prepared to be bombarded by yogurt containers!

If you need knee-highs, let me know. I throw out about a hundred a year.

Excellent. The next time Ikara_fox or I am down that way well pick them up from you. Knee-highs would work great.

By the way, would you like back the box of "ripper costume" fabric that you gave me. I never got around to making the tabards (something about aspect warrior costumes...), and I thought you might like the stuff back since SI is on hiatus.

Go ahead and keep the fabric. In all honesty, people keep giving me fabric under the assumption that I'll do something with it. I'm running out of storage space in my house.
