Fourteen months of crappy cellular service was enough. I dropped AT&T with ten months still on the contract and returned to Verizon Wireless. So, my "technically it was a phone, but it never reliably placed or received phone calls" iphone is now essentially an ipod touch, which means it will keep doing all the things it has always done well (on

It was my experience with AT&T which let me NOT to get an iPhone.
AT&T bought my formerly-cellular-one service -- cell-one had been fantastic -- and suddenly discontinued my text messaging service, kept changing around the terms and night-time hours etc., and kept trying to get me to get a new plan and a new two-year commitment. We had fulfilled our commitment, so we went right to Verizon Wireless and never looked back.
