Are you ready for some hard-boiled hobbit noir? Well, of course you are! Venture into this crackfic!extreme AU at your own risk, where familiar characters are wildly OOC, Americanisms abound, and there is even a shout-out to one of my favorite pieces of American lit ( Read more... )

What fun! Lobelia and Sandyman working for Frodo and having an affair, lol! I like Sam's role in this and his masterful way with Frodo at the end. Frodo's going with Sam and I'm following them!

As I mentioned, Out Of Character all over the place! Masterful!Sam was fun too. As in any private eye story, you always have to watch out for those mysterious blondes! ;D

You're right after me.

Thank you!

Hee, I wasn't expecting Lobelia as a secretary! I guess she's a tough old dame, killing time with that Baggins peeper. She'd head off all the clients! I like the Bartleby shoutouts, and the ending - phwoar. Bravo Elderberry!

THank'ee! I always love me some Lobelia anyways, and could just picture her sitting back and cracking wise. The best sort of watchdog any private eye could want.

And bingo on the Bartleby - I've loved him since high school. There wasn't that much F/S, I've got to admit, but I'm glad you thought what was there was hot. :D

Hee. I loved this, I haven't smiled so much for ages - it's a rough, tough neighbourhood down Hobbiton way!

Why, thank you, and glad to give you a giggle!

Hobbiton is a dodgy neighborhood indeed, and those Gamgees and Cottons really want some watching. In more ways than one. ;)

LOL! Hard-boiled gumshoe Frodo certainly met his match - and in such a satisfying way too! Brought low by a blond. Heh. Love how you twist the canon antagonists - Lobelia and Ted are perfect in their (more sympatico) roles. And thanks for redeeming Bartleby. :D

Thank you! This prompt really was all kinds of fun, and turning Sam into the requisite mysterious blond was oddly gratifying.

And you know Lobelia is one of my all time favorites. Us tough ol' gals gotta stick together. I just gave her Ted to canoodle around with. ;

N'aww. Have always have loved poor old Bartleby.

Don't they make excellent henchmen? Neither one of them better than they ought to be, of course!

Thank you very much on the narrative style - it didn't hurt that I had happened to read some Chandler this summer. Dang, that man could write.
