I was so excited to Jay-Z to crush some hardcore ass and he didn't really at all, which was disappointing. That being said, the album as a whole is righteous. all of the beats are so epic and awesome. Kick, Push, Dandelions, and Hurt Me Soul are the best songs, in my opinion. it's very cohesive.

you know I need to listen to Jay again. I feel like it may grow on me. It was at least kinda funny, if I remember correctly.

But you're right, Lupe outraps him. But out rapping Lupe shouldn't be a goal of Jay, especially on his debut album.

Nah--this isn't a Def Jam album, and furthermore, it's Lupe's first, so I know Jay-Z didn't want to slang all his shit on his first CD. He could have easily pulled a "Diamonds For Sierra Lione" or "Never Let Me Down" where he practically owns the entire song and/or album, but he gave a modest rap. I was kinda hoping he would pwn that song, myself, but whatever--who gives a fuck, he'll have all the songs he wants in November.

So far, I haven't heard it all, but I suppose it's a bit underwhelming since I've heard a lot of Lupe's songs already. Also, I think his flow is a bit slower and has less rhythm than I'm used to, so it's unfamiliar and it hasn't grown on me yet. I'm hoping I'll come to love it as much as you two, soon enough.

Don't get me wrong, I still like it a lot, just not lovin' it yet.
