Okay, so its been 2 weeks since Danny left for the good ol Sandbox. He's supposed to be gone for 7 months, that's approximately 31 weeks. So he has 29 more to go, by my records. I'm leaving for bootcamp in 2 weeks which will make 27. I should graduate from bootcamp 9 weeks after that which will make 18 weeks left. I'm guessing that Corps

Is Corps School really only 8 weeks now?? It was 14 when i went through...although i finished in 11 on the Advanced Pace Program. I hear that mostly everything is computerized now though.

I can't wait till the last HP book comes out. I'm so excited.

Hey Chip! Well Corps School is all self paced computer based training, save for the few labs. Some sailors have been completing the course in as little as 24 days. YOu have up to 14 weeks to finish it, taking a minimum of 1 test a week, but I think I'll finish faster then the 14 weeks. But I dont want to finish too fast, I really dont want to be one of the new corpsman who just finishes school, goes to his first command and is a douchebag, because he didnt retain anything.

Oh yeah! I cant wait for the new HP. Hope all is well

Yeah man. We've actually had some of the douche bag corpsmen come here. You just can't learn stuff on a computer the way you can learn it hands on. There is no way you can get IV training through a computer. I learned IVs from Danny in Iraq. He had us do them in the dark with nothing but chem lights. He's a great teacher. He also showed me how to remove ingrown toenails. But that wasn't in the dark.:)

haha! Holy testicle Tuesday!!! SO he wasn't kidding about that. He was telling me that when he teaches people IV's he does it in the dark because you need to feel for the vien and not just see it. I totally thought he was exaggerating the story. Gad zooks.

I totally agree about the computer thing. Some people, like my self, are better at classroom learning then from Computer Based learning. I've taken just about all the Corpsman classes on NKO, so hopefully they'll be similar.
