Personality: Sonic in the SatAM series is quite a bit different than his game counterpart. Rather than being a laid back guy who likes adventure, this Sonic is cocky, impatient, occasionally vain, and, as a whole? A nineties hero. On the surface he's a hedgehog full of attitude. This Sonic's the sort to make tons of corny remarks and use silly catchphrases, such as "Juice and jam time!" Most of the time he's pretty upbeat and confident, acting as though being a Freedom Fighter and fighting Robotnik are a piece of cake. In the face of danger he'll rush right on through, opting not to plan ahead most of the time; thinking, as he put it in the episode Sonic Conversion, gives him a headache. There are, however, times that he does use his wits; the episode Super Sonic was all about him relying on his brains rather than his speed. This is a lot rarer, and Sonic generally is quite proud of his "juice". His ego even causes him to argue with his best friend and "main squeeze", Princess Sally due to conflicts of concern... and his lack thereof when it comes to danger. Furthermore, he's often very impatient and will at times let it be known by tapping his foot and saying "I'm waaaaiting." Again, this may have to do with his eagerness to rush into things.
However, usually Sonic isn't just a ball of ego, at least around his friends and people he trusts. His heart's definitely in the right place, and he'd do just about anything to ensure that they're safe. For example, he went through a lot of trouble to save his Uncle Chuck, who unfortunately became a robotic slave to Dr. Robotnik. Even after his uncle lost his free will and trapped him in Mega Muck, Sonic tried his best to break through to his "Unc". Similarly, in Super Sonic, when he lost his speed he still rushed to his friends' aid, even when the odds were much more against him. More importantly, Sonic actually has fears and regrets deep down. The episode Sonic's Nightmare addressed this, as he feared the thought of his friends being roboticized, a thought which hindered him until his friends snapped him out of it. Likewise, when he failed to restore his Uncle's free will in Ultra Sonic and later failed to restore his organic form in Sonic Conversion, he actually cried and expressed his true feelings on the situation.
In fact, he can be downright friendly. His relationship in canon with Tails proves this, as he treats the young fox as a little brother and, while he does still show his 'tude, he never is mean or pushy with Tails and generally just likes to hang out with him. Bunnie and Rotor, too, often see this softer side to Sonic, as does Sally... provided they aren't arguing. He's shown sympathy to her when her father had to return to the Void and told her to stay behind during the final episode for her own safety. Deep down he really cares for her, he just has an odd way of showing it at times.
Another thing about this version of Sonic is that he's got a bit of a sharp tongue. If he dislikes someone? He'll show it, by taunting them, coming up with crude nicknames like "Robutnik" and "Snerdly". He does have moments where he does express genuine anger, but most of the time he opts to poke fun at his enemies and exploit his speed and skills. Robotnik is one of his favorite targets... but his snappy remarks aren't just limited to his enemies.
Sonic constantly teases and antagonized Antoine despite his Freedom Fighter status. Granted, it's not out of malice or anything; just Sonic being a snarky hero. His dynamic with Antoine is more of a rivalry and mild annoyance, since Ant often tries to get Sally's affection, fusses over petty things like margarine, and is a coward at heart. Because of their rivalry and Antoine's many quirks, Sonic gets a kick out of scaring him and poking fun at his poor grasp of the English language. They bicker, they argue, but it's not really hate. And that's the thing with Sonic; it doesn't take much to annoy him, but for him to really hate someone you have to really do something bad. Even Ari, who betrayed his friends at one time, isn't an object of Sonic's hate, as with Griff, another who at one point tricked them. He's actually pretty understanding most of the time, which once again proves that there's more to him than his 'tude.
Lastly, Sonic has a very strong love of chili dogs. They're probably one of the only foods he eats, and he's shown to even have dreams about them.
Backstory: (Provide a quick look into their past- where are they from, what are their motivations? If you don’t know, you can provide some good ol’ fashion headcanon.)
Moral Standing: He's a hero through and through.
Dreams: Saving Mobius is his big dream, honestly. That and finding a way to undo roboticization, especially for his Uncle Chuck. For all he gloats about being too cool for school, Sonic's dreams are very selfless.
Fears: Losing Sally or any of his friends to roboticization is a big one as well as failing as a hero. Deep down, he probably realizes that there's more at stake than his personal pride.
Extra: (Anything else you want to add?)

Here!Writing Sample: Dark, gloomy, and damp. No words better described the empty streets of Robotropolis. For as far as the eye could see, the entire city was lifeless, filled instead with metal, pollution, and decay. No plants, not even bits of grass poking up from the pavement here and there, and no animals, bar perhaps the occasional rats and insects here and there. The city served as a gruesome reminder of a once glorious city, now a polluted wasteland ruled by machines and the twisted madman controlling them.
Yet, out of the blue-- literally-- the silence and lifelessness was broken. A blue streak sped by, darting down the streets, past deserted alleys, ruined buildings, and trash. Trailing behind were members of a small group of Freedom Fighters, and though they weren’t quite as fast, they still made the effort to keep up.
As for the blue blur? It came to an abrupt stop, revealing a blue hedgehog with a confident grin. With his bright red sneakers and musty old backpack, he clearly stood out among the darkness of Robotropolis. He looked around and then waved one arm, signaling the others to continue behind him. Once his friends safely passed by, he caught a glimpse of three SWATbots patrolling the street. Not that it bothered him; this was all standard hero protocol. But instead or fleeing, he took off in a flash, rushing for the 'bots without a second thought.
“Yo, SWATbutts!” Sonic skidded to a stop for a few seconds, tapping his foot. “You ain’t lookin’ so hot!” After a split-second, he started circling the 'bots at top speed.
The SWATbots tried to grab Sonic, but he was too swift. Together, they said, “Hedgehog, priority one!” again and again, like a broken record.
Occasionally Sonic would stop, yawn, and just stand still, but before the robots could come close to detaining him he would be revving up once more. He did this for a minute or two before he began spinning like a buzzsaw, charging through the 'bots and sending pieces of metal and wires flying through the air. Satisfied, Sonic waited for the others to catch up with him. Yep, it was just another one of those days.
