Nice! I hope you enjoy the chocolate stouts; they are excellent. You must pour them in a glass, but maybe you know that. I haven't had the other ones (except Arrogant Bastard), but they look good.

One of these days I should post pictures of the beer aisle at this one particular grocery store here, it is insane. Good beer is absolutely necessary. I'm glad you aren't interested in Miller Lite. I will let you know if I think of anything else to recommend.

Yes, I just tried Young's Double Chocolate Stout on tap this past weekend. It was my first time trying a stout, and I'm very happy that I listened to your suggestion! So, thanks! I really like how stouts are so creamy and smooth. What did you think of Arrogant Bastard, by the way? That's one that I've heard people mention, so I thought that I'd try it. I was hesitant to experiment with those I've never heard of...although I have never heard of Chouffe or Troubadour. I hope that they'll be good.

Haha. You should take a picture! I wanted to take a picture of this place, but my camera phone doesn't take pictures very well in the dark. And I have to agree with you about good beer. I really didn't like beer until my boyfriend introduced me to some good beers several months ago.

Oh, and I'm currently enjoying the Young's (in a glass, of course)! I have no idea what kind of glasses go with whichever beers. But oh well. I don't believe that I've ever had beer out of anything other than a glass. I would have tried one of the other beers ( ... )

I'm glad you like it. It's one of my favorites. I mean, beer with real chocolate in it - how could it not be awesome? There probably is some kind of certain glass is supposed to go in, but I just drink it out of whatever glass I have around. A tea cup or whatever, even.

Arrogant Bastard is a good; I think I like most Rogue beers. I haven't heard of those other ones either, but they look and sound delicious.

I will totally take a picture. You might be shocked. I was.

Oh, and there is a way to open a beer bottle with another beer bottle.

Awesome! I look forward to seeing that picture.

As for opening a beer bottle with another beer bottle, wow. That is so cool! I've heard about people opening beer bottles with pens and other objects. I'd be scared to try that out, though. I'm not very good at things like that. You should have seen what I did to the cork of the very first wine bottle I opened. I just used an ordinary waiter's corkscrew, and it turned out very badly. It was pretty embarrassing.

Let me know what you think of the 120. It got pretty piss poor reviews on beer advocate, which is why I haven't forked up the considerable amount of cash for it yet--but 90 is pretty much my standard purchase. I like to always have a few of those in the fridge.

If you go into that store again, I recommend seeing if they have Unibrau's La Fin du Monde. Exquisite.

Yeah, I'll make sure to tell you what I think. I'm a bit skeptical since it is extremely alcoholic. I've never had Dogfish Head before. If I don't like this one, I'll try the 90. By the way, I totally had you in mind when I bought this. I knew that Timothy had said something about you liking Dogfish Head! I actually arranged the beers from least to most expensive in the picture. It's funny because Rogue's Chocolate Stout is so much bigger but was a dollar cheaper than the Dogfish Head 120. I paid $6 for the 120. I'll definitely check out Unibrau when I go back. Thanks for the suggestion!

Damn, six dollars is freaking good for that bottle of 120! It is 20 at the liquor store I go to... Or maybe 15... well, whatever the specific cost it is def. overpriced. I would have bought it ages ago for $6.00, though.

Hmmm, taking a closer look at it in the picture, though, I am thinking it is likely a smaller bottle than the one at my liquor store... Still, though, I would prefer to pay less for a smaller bottle!

Oh, this is pretty awesome. It's totally a girly beer, I guess you could say.

I wouldn't call any lambic "girly"; even the framboise has so much bitterness under the delicious raspberry sweetness that it's not really a drinkin' beer so much as a pre-bottled cocktail. A delicious pre-bottled cocktail.

You don't say, eh? It's been a year or two since I've had it. I mostly remember it being extremely yum. I should probably just go get some right now.

I have one every once in a while, but it's not something I can do more than one of in, oh, a week. I also love to use lambics in cooking - the peach works fantastically as a chicken marinade.

As for which beers are good and inexpensive, well, remember that Miller Lite still wins blind taste competitions with some regularity. Try a bunch of stuff and find what you like. Don't let anybody tell you your taste in beer is terrible (unless you like IPAs, which suck. Heh.); just drink what you enjoy and have fun while doing it.

Hmmm, I tend to lump beers like Bud Light, Miller Lite, Natural Ice, Busch Light, and Coors Light together, which is perhaps a bit unfair. Since I'm still an undergraduate student (unfortunately), I often associate those beers with house parties, beer pong, keg stands, and whatever else most idiots my age enjoy doing. I'm not sure if I've ever actually tried Miller Lite. I agree that people should drink what they like and have fun while they do it. It's just that most undergrads buy loads of cheap beer for the sole purpose of getting obnoxiously drunk...and I find that extremely irksome. I'd much rather spend a few dollars on one good beer than the same amount on a bad or mediocre case of beer. But then again, I'm only 5'3", so I don't really need to drink much beer to feel tipsy ( ... )

Whiskey is the greatest of all drinks. Personally, I prefer the Irish whiskies to the scotches; second place goes to rye, third to bourbon. This means that I tend to drink bourbon at bars because Irish whiskey is generally pretty pricey and rye is usually unavailable.

My advice to you is to find a group of people and set up a whiskey tasting. Everybody brings a bottle of something or t'other. Try a bunch of things and find what you like, then go with it.
