Nashville flood

I don't think that many people are aware of it, but Nashville and Memphis were hit pretty hard with floods over this weekend. I live in New York now, but I know that I never saw anything of this sort when I was growing up in Tennessee.

This is an aerial view of my old high school. All of the brown stuff surrounding the school is water...that isn't supposed to be there. Luckily, no water got into the school since it's on a hill. The soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and softball fields are all under water.
My brother is a senior there now, and the school will be closed for a while because there is no way to get there by car. Someone said, "It literally takes a boat to get there, which is exactly what Mr. Weber, Mr. Brown and Mrs. Phillips used to retrieve the A.P. exams from the school so that they could be administered on time, albeit at a different location."

Many highways were closed because water from the Cumberland River overflowed onto them.

These are the steps leading down to my neighbors' basement.
