Daddy issues

So, Facebook strikes again. After an incredibly long while my dad seems to want to come back into my life. His other son, my half-brother, hit me up on Facebook today. After some hello and how ya been, we move on to daddy. "Daddy misses you", "Daddy wants to see you", and boy you should bring your kids up so we can all get to know one another.

You may have to assume he loves your kids and you as it sounds like he's never learned how to express it. Sounds exactly like my dad in that way anyhow. It wasn't (I think) because he didn't want to, but that he couldn't or didn't know how.

You're much more forgiving than I am. I admire that in you, but I don't understand it. Of course, you know this is coming from someone whose relationship with his own father is practically non-existent.

Forgiveness is much easier when you are more humble than not. And if I am to be a Christian, what can be more Christ-like than forgiveness?

Ooer... Maybe we should study forgiveness at our Study.

I think we need to tackle a few lighter topics (you know, like death, hell, damnation, torture, etc.) before we wade into the mire of daddy issues in our little group.
