In Which Another Winchester Goes Missing

It hadn’t been hard to track down Dean. All you really had to do was follow the trail of angel dust. The truly hard part of the task was getting him alone-which he simply never was. He was always had someone with him, whether it was one of his sons, his brother, a friend. In all honesty, he would have had no qualms with just slaughtering the whole house. It would have been easy enough to do and still have gotten him what he wanted, but that would have attracted too much attention. And Phoenix would have been displeased if the effect she wanted was ruined by the fact that Alloces had attracted too much attention in the initial grab.

So he waited.

He stayed just out of range so that Amy or Ruby, should she come around, wouldn’t pick up on him and come looking, but close enough so that he could still see what was happening. He waited through the arrival of new friends, and as the hunters came and went on their various jobs. It wasn’t for a few weeks, however, before Dean and a small tiny blond went to get into his car. From the gear she was hauling, it looked like they were going to be gone for some time. There was his opportunity, once and for all.

Killing the tiny blond would be easier, and attract less attention, but it would still attract some. It was quieter if he just took Dean when he was alone, so he followed, making his way through the back roads of the Midwest, and waiting silently outside the roadhouse where they stopped. He could care less about what went on inside-that was of no interest to him. What was, was when Dean came out the next morning, alone, and climbed into his car to leave again.

Jackpot.

It wasn’t long before Dean pulled off to an almost empty gas station, not far off the highway. Even now, it was still about the opportune moment. He waited while Dean filled up his car, before moving it over to the side so that he could go in, pay for the gas and get himself something to eat. Alloces finally solidified where he was, sitting up on the hood of the car and waiting for Dean to round the corner again, elbows resting on his knees.

It didn’t take long, no more than a few minutes, before the older man rounded the corner and when he saw Alloces sitting there, he froze. He was unarmed, alone against a known demon that he was relatively certain was here to rip him in half. Alloces could read it all in the shock on his face, and he smirked slightly, starting to draw himself up off the hood of the car.

“Hello, Dean.”

“What do you want?” he demanded, his face stoning over as the initial shock passed. “Look, using me as bait-it’s not going to get you anywhere. Haven’t you idiots learned that by now?”

He was backing away from Alloces, looking for some kind of out or exit for him to run to. Alloces just smirked, before shaking his head. “Don’t worry-you’re not going to be bait.”

Dean registered the words, before looking him over, straightening slightly and steeling himself for a fight. “You’re here to kill me then.”

“Not quite that either,” Alloces replied. “Your presence is requested by a superior of mine. So don’t worry-I’m not going to kill you.” He moved quickly, grabbing hold of Dean and turning him to face a nearby wall before he could fight against him, forcing him so that Dean’s back was to him. “Yet.”

Some kind of survival instinct kicked in, and Dean’s head shot backwards, butting against that of the demon behind him. It wasn’t a hard hit, but it was enough for Alloces to loosen his grip slightly, and give Dean enough leverage to spin around and punch him in the face. Alloces took the punch, spitting out a small amount of blood, before looking up at Dean with a smirk.

“I was hoping you wouldn’t make this easy.”

It was over relatively quickly after that. Alloces didn’t use any more power than he had to when it came to overpowering the man, giving him still a chance to fight his way free, but enough that he was still going to win the fight. It ended with Dean’s head connecting with the roof of his car, going limp against Alloces’s arms, out cold. After that, they were gone, vanishing from sight just as easily as he had appeared, leaving his car in the dust.

This, at the end of the day, was going to be fun.
