"It'll work out, Sam. It won't be easy, but it'll work out."
She wasn't sure what else there was to say, other than that, so she just stayed close, letting him lean on her if he needed to, just like she always did, and she stayed quiet until she felt the presence of the two angels arriving on the other side of the room.

He glanced at Dean for a second before speaking up. "I didn't know."
Sam would want to hear that right away, he thought. It was certainly what he would have wanted to hear if things were switched around.

When Dean and John appeared, he looked at them wearily, then nodded. "So I can scratch being pissed off at Dad off my list of things to do this week..." he offered as a way to break the tension.
