I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but it comes to my attention that pretty much no one in this place is 100% normal. Keep in mind that, where I'm from, "normal" usually alludes to a human being with absolutely no experience with magic, monsters, gods, cults, royalty, or interplanetary travel. In fact, most "normal" human beings never have ( Read more... )

A couple of us are normal by the standards of their own world or race. Others not even by that.

Maybe, but even the ones who consider themselves "normal" still come from a place where exemplary skills and/or occurences are the norm. There's really no way to set up a control group, but an informal poll should be enough to help me confirm some theories.

I see. Well, I wouldn't count as normal if you apply that definition. I take that you wouldn't, either?

... do you consider yourself to be a "nation"? In that case, yeah, I wouldn't call that normal. By my world's standards, at least.

Maora is quite normal, just your average student and nothing more.

Really? A student of what?

Student of? Well, Maora is still in high school, so there isn't a particular focus at the moment. But, Maora does take care of the treasury for the student council.

Ah, okay. So you're Maora, then? Being in high school would make you a teenager, right?

Well, I'm normal by my world's standards. Just... What I went through wasn't normal.

What you went through? If you don't mind talking about it, I'd be interested in hearing it out. But if you'd rather not, I get that.

Royalty isn't normal? But they're pretty good for leaders . . . I mean, that's what they're SUPPOSED to be.

Royalty's not a bad show of not-normal. It's just that the majority of people - at least, where I'm from - are... "commoners." Most of us don't have close ties to our President, or our prime minister or king or whatever. So to be a member of royalty or to be affiliated with someone who is would set someone apart from the rest.
