When you're buying collectors type books, do you buy them in English, or in the original language?

Right now, I've only been buying them in English (if they are not originally in it) because generally I believe in owning books in languages you can understand. My only foreign language books at the moment are in French because I can read that, but they are not collectible books (at the moment). That's why I've been focusing on finding books with interesting artwork; otherwise it seems silly to spend the money on something where the text is usually public domain on the internet anyway.

That said, perhaps when I have more money some day in the future, I could imagine buying a couple of books in their original languages despite not reading them. A Dostoevsky in Russian would if nothing else be beautiful to look at because Cyrillic is lovely. Or something like a first Icelandic edition of Independent People.
