I'm not good with prayers, so I will only say that Pope John Paul II was an amazing and inspirational man, regardless of your politics, with very human strengths and flaws and a truly amazing story. I hope that he now rests in God's arms.

Agreed. As John Donne said, "Every man's death diminished me". With this man's death, the world has been diminished. He was a complex man who was socially progressive and doctrinely conservative. He lived his life with joy, compassion, kindness, just, strength and love. He showed us how to be good people by example. My heart is so heavy and sad but I am trying to celebrate his life, love and happiness because he is now Home with God where we all seek to be.

Its a wonderful thing to me that I'm not alone with these thoughts and prayers.

And its a sign of just how amazing this person was, I think, for all of these feelings to be so strong among so many in the world, both friends and strangers.
