How Close is Too Close??

While I'm somewhat working on this novel, I stop myself sometimes and wonder if this is bordering too close to reality to be considered a fiction, as well as too close to the point where I may get suit for defamation of character

Nope, doing it for myself. Started a little back in September and keep touching up on it every now and again.
