I look forward to it. It's as Scrooge's nephew said, "But I am sure I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round - apart from the veneration due to its sacred name and origin, if anything belonging to it can be apart from that - as a good time: a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time: the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. And therefore, uncle, though it has never put a scrap of gold or silver in my pocket, I believe that it has done me good, and will do me good; and I say, God bless it!"
It's a combination of both. I hate it because you're trying to be in this happy, energetic mood and you have some Scrooges who do whatever it takes to piss you off at the same time - mainly when it comes to the shopping aspect of it. Mostly involves the "cutting you off in traffic" aspect.
Although I like spending time with family. That's what Christmas is, right?
I pretend not to like it but I luv it. Always have, always will. The only thing I don't like is Xmas music, because you hear the same songs year after year, but I like those songs you don't seem to hear, that show you the other side of it, so to speak. I think if I’m going to play a cd all day, it should be one I like. We sing the Family Guy version of 'Little Drummer Boy' in our house....
love and loathe it. Loathe the fact it's commercialised bullshit and the shopping crowd. Loathe the family members who ask me when i am getting married and having kids. Loathe spending time with family members I detest just because it's christmas.
love spending time with my nieces and nephews and buying presents for them.
Love the christmas music, love the spirit of what it really means.
