If you really like a band, should you have all their albums?? Would you keep an album you hated because it was theirs?? Do you think music you grew up with ends up appealing more??Depends. If a band has been going for years, at least a couple of their albums are bound to disappoint. I have a couple I played once, didn't like, & haven't

Dunno. I still have vinyl albums of bands I've been following for years, though I later got CD versions and MP3s of their songs. But little of it's mainstream, and there was LOTS of crap in the mainstream when I grew up that I do dislike.

I'm not sure all the questions are really connected.

I'd buy an album giving a Band I have loved previously the benefit of the doubt if I'd heard it sucked before hand anyway because I think some people grow out of some music. The thing is, others will hate on a band when their album doesn't sound like their last one.

I <3 30STM from beginning to end. Their first album differed a lil from their 2nd, but their 3rd was a completely different sound and I loved it anyway, despite the fact my BF hated it who had also liked their 2nd album. It just depends how you take the change in music.

I saw Nickelback has a new CD out, it's been forever since I've heard their stuff though. I'm gonna try to find a song off the new album on youtube before I go buy it though, just to have a heads up if I need a grain of salt while listening

I totally get what you are saying. I have been to a couple of concerts just to please friends, but I was cringing in my chair the whole time. Even when I was in HS late eighties early nineties, I loved 70's and early eighties stuff. While everyone else was listening to TOP 40.

I'm like this with more than just bands. If I really like something, I feel it's my duty to thank the creators by buying their merchandise (i.e. the CDs if it's a band, the manga/DVDs if it's an anime, etc).
