If you could change one event in world history What would it be? How do you believe this would affect the timeline and make your life different?

I'd go back a little over a year, maybe a year and a couple of months, and done something to keep my brother alive so he would not have died the day he did - January 24, 2011.

And maybe, if I could take a side trip, stop over in the States and save one other person's life: the brother of a dear friend whom I consider closer than friendship and family.

Coincidentally, both brothers share the same birthday.

If there was one specific event that, if changed, would mean the economy would no longer be in the shitter, I'd change that. It would affect me and pretty much everybody I know in a positive way. I doubt it's so simple as that, though.

I wouldn't assuming I could. After all to change an event in history would mean altering the fabric of existence and while that is a nice thought in theory not only are the consequences unpredictable the power it would take to do such a thing is well... a lot. I mean if one had that power how would they control it and it not control them leaving them to the fate which was destined in the first place and assuming one could control it, to change something is to erase the motivation for changing it in the first place ( ... )

The first chappie who ever decided to rap into a microphone rather than try to sing? I'd have strangled him with the mike cable.

Seriously, though, one thing that comes to mind is going back to Germany about a hundred and twenty years ago. I'd have waited for Adolf to come skipping along the street, said to him, "Hello, lad; this is for seven million Jews," biffed him about half a dozen times across the noggin with a hammer and thrown the f***ed up, hateful little shite down a well. Ho-hum. And then I'd have gone to Josef Stalin's house...

I see that the person above had the same idea, coincidentally. Great minds think alike.

I would change WW2 because I hate what people did to each other (concentration camp, atom bombs) ...

I think it would totally affect the world.
For example: I read unpleasant comments on Facebook that the "Americans" got revenge for Pearl Harbor when Japan had to struggle with the things that happened last year.
And this is only one example. My mind is full of other examples. :o(
