The prices of those things vary quite widely across the country. The price of gasoline varies by what city you're in. Bus fare also varies by what city you're in. Food would be more expensive in the far north. So I might expect politicians to know the price of food, but I would not expect a politician from the east coast to know the prices of things on the west coast. As far as public transportation goes, I wouldn't expect them to know anything but the price of public transportation in their home cities.

For Italian politicians, 1,30€ probably is the highest price of gasoline.

They probably still don't, but I recall from some article that US politicians about four years ago had no clue.
