Well, I think this is (somewhat) a "to each their own" issue. Myself and most of my friends find ATHF hilarious and easily the funniest show on Adult Swim (past AND present). As far as I know, it's the top biller because the majority of the AS audience agrees with that assessment ( ... )

Actually, I'm guessing that the dominance of ATHF is more on the Williams Street end. They haven't made a decent SG:C2C since "Knifin' Around" (although that was probably the best one ever), and the ones they have made since then I could count on two hands. And what the hell was up with the "Mommentary" episodes? Are there really no good ideas left?

Despite that being the case, I'd much rather Cartoon Network show Space Ghost reruns than most of the crap they're showing now. I wouldn't even mind just having Sunday night for the funny stuff- as long as they keep Futurama, you can have all the other days for your anime.

I'd like to see a station that does ONLY cartoons for adults. Forget a few hours at night when the kiddies are asleep. Make an adult only cartoon channel. Anime, Space Ghost, animated political satire, cartoon porn (Fritz the Cat anyone?), reruns of cartoons most of us grew up with (Looney Tunes). NO CUTESY KIDDIE STUFF.

Now that's an idea I can agree with!

Damn, Xenia beat me to it.

Personally, I'm the anime fan in that last paragraph. I know it wasn't very good--especially when compared with the genuine Japanese stuff--but it's the best I can get out here in this desert shit-hole. They were actually doing alright with the anime programing a while, but by the time I moved out of Andy's house I hadn't watched AS in months because they were pushing nothing but humor--aside from Cowboy Bebop and Inuyasha, which were always reruns anyway.

You're totally right about AS having a serious knack for screwing up a good thing, though. It seems every time they had a decent program line-up some dick in uppper management would tell them they were doing too well and it was time to switch half the current shows with stupid, shitty programs that no one wanted to watch.
