Tonight is the hardest I laughed all semester. All year. In a long damn time. I really needed tonight, and the people that I love continue to give me new reasons to love them and to make my life everything I want it to be, joyful, meaningful, poetic and fun.
Now onto the quotes of the night... these are not funny to you if you were not there, but they MUST be immortalized.
Michelle: Sometimes after I hang out with a bunch of girls, I have to go get some testosterone in my system. Wait. NO! NOT LIKE THAT!"
Mike: Things are only funny if at least one other person laughs. Otherwise they're just mean. That's our guide.
Wes: sotto voce Mike, from now on you laugh at everything I say that's mean and I'll laugh at everything you say that's mean and we'll be ok.
Mike: sotto voce Ok.
Wes: William, you're ugly. Mike laughs a very fake laugh OK, Mike you try it.
Mike: with mouth full of taco Wes, you smell like a fetus.
Wes laughs... hard... tears streaming down his face. Mike also laughs. The rest of the table sits and stares as this laughter goes on for like 2 minutes. Finally there is silence.
