Can I just say, there's nothing like watching an episode of Animal Cops (any of the cities that are featured) to reassure you that some people really, really suck. You know, I can understand a lot of bad stuff. But what inspires someone to chain an animal someplace with no food or water and leave it there to die? Seriously, call Animal Control.

Speaking of annoying grammatical things:

Something that annoys me to no end is when people drop the verb, "to be" completely. Instead of saying, "This shirt needs to be cleaned," they say, "This shirt needs cleaned". It is completely regional because I've noticed tons of people here doing it. Bill does it. I've even had to make a concerted effort not to do it myself. Argh.

Heehee... I have to say, when I came back from living in Mexico, it took me forever to putting the pronoun back in sentences. I had pretty much just dropped them in my head because Spanish so often doesn't bother to use them. It drove people nuts.

I didn't know you lived in Mexico...how long were you there?

About a year. I was an exchange student with the Rotary International Student Exchange Program. It was quite a learning experience. That's the main reason why Joe & I went to Mexico for our honeymoon. I figure starting him with the super-American friendly area was a way to ease him into the real thing.
