depends on cost, but usually you shouldn't need the extended warranty. as long as you regularly keep up with the maintance, you shouldn't need it. that is my experience and my family's experience and a couple friends actually. I'm not sure about others though. But since you aren't buying a pos, I say you shouldn't need it.
Yeah I think that too.... my family has ALWAYS been one to get the extended warranties though, and of course no one bothers to put up front pricing on them when you are trying to price a car so that just makes it more obnoxious. I did some research however, and found out that you can add the warranties after buying the car (although you can't finance them), so maybe that might become an option.
I got one only because of the sheer number of miles I drive per year. Sharad (my boss and car-buying expert) determined it was actually cheaper to get the extra, because I book close to 30K miles a year on my car. Otherwise, I don't think you really need it, as long as you do all your maintenance, and aren't a horrible driver.
Hmm.... I'm logging close to 2k mi a month just in commuting distance, so about 24k a year + weekend road trips, and errands. Might be worth it for me then.
